 Mayor Phil Gordon, Councilman Bill Gates and the Phoenix Sister Cities Himeji Committee
announce a Japan Aid Fund that will benefit relief efforts for the recent disasters in Japan.

Although residents in Himeji, Japan were not greatly impacted by the devastating 9.0 magnitude earthquake or tsunami on March 11, the Sister Cities Himeji Committee will collect donations in the name of the City of Himeji that will go directly to the Salvation Army-Japan and Red Cross-Japan.

Monetary donations will be accepted by Phoenix Sister Cities at phoenixsistercities.org or by mailing a check to Phoenix Sister Cities, Himeji Committee Relief Fund, Historic City Hall, 17 S. Second Ave., fourth floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003 or call 602-534-3751.


All events held from 12 noon to 1 p.m. (unless noted otherwise).  All City employees supporting PAL's mission are welcome.   Delicious Asian/Pacific lunch available for $10 (12 person minimum)(unless otherwise noted) or free if you bring your own.  To RSVP or for questions, call Ramil Rivera at 273-4322 or email ramil.rivera@phoenix.gov

June 8:  "Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Cultures," Lucretia Bacon, Planning Committee Chair for Arizona Aloha Festival & Past President of Lau Kanaka No Hawaii.  830 Building, Housing Dept., 830 E. Jefferson St.  A 7-dish, home-cooked Hawaiian lunch will be available for $10 or FREE if you bring your own.  Early pre-registration w/ Chiu at 262-6877 is requested.

March 16, 8am-5pm at South Mountain Community College.  Open to all employees. Download your registration form at arizonanfbpa.org and click on the link that says “2010 Seminar."

Employees may apply seminar reimbursement funds (blue card money) to the event. $85 for non-members.  Call Corey Williams with Aviation at 602-273-2725.


Every 2nd Saturday. 6 – 9AM.  848 E. Dobbins Rd.  Twenty-two pallets of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other foods will be distributed FREE by St. Luke’s at the Mountain Church.  Contact Romeo Rabusa at 602-683-2673 for more info.


He completed ASU's Ramsey Executive Education, Certified Public Manager Program.  Romeo is an Admin Assistant II at Aviation.
